Though Revan would eventually return to the light side and defeat Malak, Malak had a masterful control over the dark side. Though Revan survived and was taken away by the Jedi, Malak became the new Dark Lord of the Sith and he ruled the Sith Empire ruthlessly. He became Darth Revan’s apprentice as “Darth Malak.” During a Jedi raid on his master’s flagship, Malak sensed opportunity and betrayed his former friend by ordering his fleet to destroy Revan’s ship.
